OUR ADVICE

Here are a few pointers but if you have any other queries please do not hesitate to contact us via email or text.
Timing/Arrival
Its best to come to the car boot near the opening time of 7am so you have adequate time to prepare your stall. Please be patient and prepared to wait at times during the early morning set up period. It’s very important that we make no noise during the early hours and show respect to local residents. All sellers must be packed up and off site by 12:30pm
Be Ready
Have a suitable bag, purse or money belt on you so you can keep your money safe and be ready to close a sale and make a profit.
Loading
Think about the way you pack your vehicle. Its best practise to load those items last which you need first, especially your thermos and chair. If your items are heavy ask a fellow seller for help.
Change
Make sure you have adequate change so you never turn away a customer or have to knock down your price. Please bring the correct money for your pitch fee and have it ready before the entrance as this speeds up the set up for everyone.
Table/Tarpaulin Sheet
Tables are a great way to present your stock to buyers, not only are they more likely to be attracted to your stall but they don’t have to bend down. Alternatively ensure you have an adequate sheet.
Company
It’s really important to have a companion with you if possible. Not only can they help you with setting up but fetch the super important coffee and cake or cover while you dash to the loo.
Refreshments/Snacks
Having a hot/cold drink and some snacks will get you through the event and may keep you chirpy and ready to deal with the buyers. We have food available so if you’re stuck just stroll over to the food vendors.

Parking Rules
To help reduce pollution/CO2, there is no on site parking for buyers, only loading, times and prices are detailed in our entry prices page. Limited free parking is available at Anerley Hill and Crystal Palace Park Road entrances to the park. Please avoid driving in and use other modes of transport whenever possible to help protect the environment. We are located in close proxmity to Crystal Palace Bus and Railway Stations.
Parking Locations
Please park your vehicles as directed by the onsite traffic marshals who will outline your setting up space. Vehicles and contents are left here entirely at owners risk
No Littering/Fly Tipping
Kindly respect the area by placing all litter in a bin. Crystal Palace Boot will go to great effoerts to catch and report any fly tipping/dumping to the local authority with photographic/CCTV evidence.

Limited free parking is available at Anerley Hill and Crystal Palace Park Road entrances to the park

Counterfeit Goods
Please keep your dogs on a lead and in control at all times and consider the safety of all present.
Crystal Palace Boot is a family event and we have a strictly NO Fire Arms/Knives, Tobacco, Alcohol and Controlled Substances on site policy. If you are found to be offering/displaying any items that fall under this category you be reported to Trading Standards/ Police and told to leave immediately without a refund.
It is illegal to sell counterfeit goods anywhere in the UK and Crystal Palace Boot is no exception.

How do I book a pitch?
If you do wish to book please contact us via our web site with your booking request so we can discuss your plans.
What time should I arrive as a seller?
Our set up team start at 6:30am and will try to accommodate waiting on the site. Please do not turn up before this time as it may cause disturbance to local residents.
Can we leave engines running while we wait?
We care for the environment so please do not add to pollution. The law states that is an offence to idle your engine unnecessarily when stationary.
How will I know if the boot sale is cancelled?
Always check our websites, Facebook or Instagram early morning before setting off, Or text us the night before.
Do you run any other boot sales?
We are always looking for suitable sites and also operate Sutton Car Boot. We would love to hear from you if you can advise on locations where we should consider new boot sales.
Can I have a pitch next to my friend?
All vehicles are parked up according to arrival logistics. If you want to be with your friends please arrive together and we will try our best to look after your needs.
Would like to sell yummy food?
Anyone wishing to sell hot or cold food can only do so if its yummy and with prior arrangement from crystalpaclaceboot.co.uk management. We have a procedure and booking system that must be followed. Please contact us so we can discuss your ideas.

WE WORK CLOSELY WITH TRADING STANDARDS AND THEREFORE LOCAL OFFICIALS MAKE REGULAR ON THE SPOT CHECKS AT OUR FAIRS TO FIND ANYONE BREAKING THE LAW.
